Ras Abu Ar Rasas marks the southern tip of Masirah Island in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, where the calm turquoise waters of the western shore meet the pounding surf of the open Arabian Sea on the eastern side. The point sits barely a meter above sea level and is a busy traditional fishing ground, with the conical Jabal Suwayr rising nearby to the north.
