Yenkit is a small village on Muscat's eastern coast, just off the road to Sifah, prized for a narrow rocky inlet that travelers compare to a Norwegian fjord. Two hiking routes, each under five kilometers round trip, lead along the western and eastern sides of the inlet to striking cliff top viewpoints. It sits about forty minutes from the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, though the trek is fully exposed to the sun and the rocky shoreline is not suited for swimming.

Fahal Island rises about four kilometers off Muscat's Qurm beach, its limestone cliffs formed from seabed sediment some 35 to 55 million years ago and later pushed above the waves. The waters around it hold colorful coral reefs and rich marine life, making it one of Muscat's best known diving and snorkeling spots, and it is nicknamed Shark Island for the reef sharks often seen in its shallows. Because the island is a protected natural reserve, visits and dives require prior authorization from the relevant authorities.

Oman Aquarium occupies the ground and first floors of Mall of Muscat in Seeb's Mabaila area, opposite the Nesto Hypermarket, roughly an hour's drive from central Muscat. It is a paid, ticketed attraction rather than a free stop, with published packages priced around six Omani rials for children under twelve and twelve rials for adults. Travel guides frame it as a low stress indoor break for families with young children on hot days, rather than a must see landmark.

The Daymaniyat Islands form a protected nature reserve about 18 kilometers off the coast near Seeb, reached by a boat trip of around 45 minutes, most commonly from Al Mouj Marina. The surrounding waters are known for clear visibility, coral reefs, and sea turtles that swim comfortably alongside snorkelers, with whale sharks occasionally spotted between July and September. To protect nesting turtles, landings on the islands are restricted from May to October.

Palmera Botanic Garden is a family run botanical park and small zoo in Saad village, Bousher, Muscat, built around a collection of native and imported palm trees alongside farm animals, birds, bees and a Reptile House with creatures such as crocodiles and meerkats. Co-founded by environmental scientist Maysam Al Ismaili, the garden runs educational tours for schools, universities and corporate groups and charges a small entry fee. It offers Muscat families an easy, unusual outing built around Oman's most iconic tree.

Quriyat Lake Park is a man made lake beside the coastal road in Wilayat Quriyat, spread across about 19.8 acres and opened in 2002. Lush greenery, walking paths, and picnic areas surround the tranquil lake, making it a popular spot for a relaxed stroll or family outing. It offers large green spaces for outdoor activities and opens daily from half past seven in the morning until eleven at night.

Al Wadi Al Kabeer Park sits along the road leading to Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Wilayat Mutrah, Muscat, covering roughly forty thousand square metres. Its layout blends a range of visitor facilities with a dedicated area of electric rides for children, set among trees and flowers arranged in neat geometric patterns. Overlooking the sea, the park opens daily from nine in the morning until quarter to midnight.
