Falaj Al Jeela is a spring fed falaj in Al Jeela village, in the rugged mountains of Wilayat Sur, and one of five aflaj systems inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Its open channel carries water down from the upper course of Wadi Al Shaab and keeps flowing throughout the year regardless of the season, sustaining the village that depends on it. The site stands as a living example of the ingenuity Omanis used to bring mountain water to their homes and farms.

The Friday Souq in Jaalan Bani Bu Ali is one of the best known old markets in Oman, drawing traders from across the wilayats of the southern Sharqiyah coast. Vendors still sell camel and livestock meat, feed, sheep, cattle, poultry and fish in the traditional way, some sitting on the ground to display their goods as their ancestors did. The market runs most days of the week with morning and afternoon sessions, close to Al Hamoudah Fort, Al Qubba Mosque and the Al Dhahir archaeological area in the town centre.

Al Ayjah Lighthouse stands on Ras Al Meel, a headland in the Al Ayjah quarter of Sur, overlooking the entrance to Khor Al Batah across the water from the town centre. What began as a simple defensive enclosure with openings for cannon and rifle fire was rebuilt in 1996 by order of Sultan Qaboos to mark National Day, rising into the present three floor lighthouse crowned with a dome in traditional Omani style. Three of its original cannons remain, and the site draws visitors especially at sunset for its views over the harbour and coastline of Sur.

Ras Abu Ar Rasas marks the southern tip of Masirah Island in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, where the calm turquoise waters of the western shore meet the pounding surf of the open Arabian Sea on the eastern side. The point sits barely a meter above sea level and is a busy traditional fishing ground, with the conical Jabal Suwayr rising nearby to the north. Visitors come for the dramatic contrast of the two coastlines, for swimming and snorkeling, and for sunset views over the water.

Al Ashkharah Fishing Port sits on the southeastern coast of Oman in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, about three and a half hours by road from Muscat. Wave breakers and floating docks shelter traditional fishing boats and larger vessels that head out for kingfish, tuna, shrimp, and lobster. Visitors can watch boats return with the daily catch, buy fresh seafood straight off the boats, and arrange fishing trips or marine excursions with local fishermen, alongside chances to spot gulls and dolphins offshore.

Al Jahl is a historic mountain village in the Tiwi region of Wilayat Sur, high in the hills above Wadi Tiwi in South Ash Sharqiyah Governorate. Reaching it requires a four wheel drive vehicle and an experienced driver, since the mountain road leading up is rugged, and the village is recognized as one of the area's archaeological attractions alongside Wadi Shab and Mibam village. Its old stone houses keep a traditional Omani architectural style, and residents traditionally moved down to the milder Qaran area during the cold winter months.

Wadi Al Mana and Wadi Al Manzaf are two valleys around Sabt village in Wilayat Al Kamil Wal Wafi, Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate, about forty kilometres from the wilayat centre. Both flow with water year round, with scattered pools shaded by palm and sidr trees between towering mountains. Wadi Al Mana sits at the top of the village where the main falaj begins and draws crowds especially on weekends and during the rainy season, while Wadi Al Manzaf lies between Siq and Sabt villages, offering more privacy amid its palm studded oasis.

Al Kamil Old Fort Museum occupies a historic fort in wilayat Al Kamil Wal Wafi, South Ash Sharqiyah Governorate, a wilayat that lies some 57 kilometres from Sur and counts roughly 80 forts scattered across its 40 or so villages and towns. Inside, the museum gathers archaeological pieces and folkloric heritage, traditional hand tools, distinctive jewellery and old manuscripts. Fort supervisor Khulfan bin Khames Al Hashemi describes it as an oasis that keeps the authentic spirit of the past alive while still pulsing with everyday life, tracing how the region has developed across different eras.
