Ad Dakhiliyah

Ad Dakhiliyah is fort country — Nizwa's round tower and Friday livestock souq, Bahla's UNESCO-listed walls, Jabreen's painted ceilings — all fed by falaj channels older than the forts themselves. Jabal Akhdar rises out of it too, cool enough at 2,000 meters for rose farms and pomegranate terraces.
